Create and Restore Backups

Create a backup

  1. Open Backups.
  2. Select Create Backup.
  3. Enter a useful name.
  4. Add ignored-file patterns only when you understand what they exclude.
  5. Lock the backup if it should be protected from accidental deletion.
  6. Wait for the status to show completion.

Restore safely

Stop the server and verify the backup’s date and name. Download or create a copy of the current state if needed, start the restore, and do not restart or upload files until it finishes.

Restoring replaces current server data with the selected backup and can overwrite newer work.

Download critical backups to a device or storage account you control. A backup inside the same hosting account should not be the only copy of irreplaceable data.
