Social Actions Configuration

Social Actions uses one behavior config and one language config:

configuration/social_actions.json5 configuration/social_actions-lang.json5

Restart AthenaBot after editing either file so the config manager loads your changes.

Main Config

FieldTypeDefaultDescription
config.reply_modestringreplyUse reply for an interaction response or send for a separate channel message.
config.buttons_enabledbooleantrueAdds Interact Back and Reject buttons to actions between two members.
config.ping_target_userbooleantrueNotifies the targeted member. Set it to false to keep the visible mention without sending a notification.
config.allow_self_actionbooleantrueAllows members to target themselves.
config.permissions.<command>stringeveryoneSets the AthenaBot permission level for one command.

Supported permission levels are everyone, member, staff, admin, and owner.

{ config: { reply_mode: 'reply', buttons_enabled: true, ping_target_user: true, allow_self_action: true, permissions: { hug: 'everyone', kiss: 'member', slap: 'staff', }, }, }

Target Notifications

With ping_target_user: true, the bot places the target mention in the message content and allows Discord to notify that user. The plugin blocks other mentions from sending notifications through the same action response.

Self-actions do not send a target notification. An Interact Back response notifies the member who receives the returned action.

Language Config

The language file controls the interaction embed, response buttons, action messages, and warnings.

Interaction Embed

embed.interaction supports AthenaBot’s standard embed fields. The default description and image use these placeholders:

PlaceholderValue
%interaction_text%Action emoji, actor mention, and action text
%counter_text%Saved interaction count for the selected action
%gif_url%GIF returned by Nekos.best
%guild%Discord server name
%guild_icon%Discord server icon URL

Buttons

buttons.interact_back and buttons.reject support label, emoji, and style.

Button styles: Primary, Secondary, Success, and Danger.

buttons: { interact_back: { label: '%action% Back', emoji: '🔄', style: 'Primary', }, reject: { label: 'Reject', emoji: '%custom_emoji_29%', style: 'Danger', }, },

Use a Unicode emoji or an Athena custom emoji placeholder such as %custom_emoji_29%.

Action Messages

Each entry under actions supports:

FieldDescription
emojiEmoji shown before the action text
actionMessage used when targeting another member
self_actionMessage used for a self-action
colorHex color for the embed
counterCounter message for actions between two members
self_counterCounter message for self-actions
rejectedMessage sent when the target rejects the action

Action messages can use %user%, %target%, and %count% where the field supports them. The Interact Back label can use %action%.
