PluginsAIO AgentOverview

AIO Agent

AIO Agent is an all-in-one AI assistant plugin for AthenaBot. It can answer questions, help inside ticket channels, summarize Discord conversations, run safe server-management tools for trusted users, moderate messages, greet new members, watch for join raids, and answer common questions from a local knowledgebase.

Version 1.4.2 adds configurable AI welcome languages and prefixes, fixes approved /history commands and private replies, and improves approval, scam-scanning, anti-raid, and AI-provider compatibility.

AIO Agent can run powerful Discord actions when you allow trusted users to use tools. Configure owner_id, admin_users, moderator_users, and require_confirmation_for before using it on a live server.

Early release safety note: test ticket automation, moderation, and destructive Discord actions in a private server or private ticket before enabling them for customers.

Main Features

  • Ticket support agent for AthenaBot ticket channels
  • Strict ticket intake workflow for collecting required fields, confirming a brief, and asking before staff notification
  • Optional external ticket bot fallback for third-party ticket systems
  • Owner/admin/moderator tool calling with Discord action confirmations, including protected channel creation, permission editing, and deletion
  • Smart chat mode that answers questions and help requests without replying to every message
  • Optional every-message and mention/reply-only modes for chat and tickets
  • Built-in AthenaBot knowledgebase support
  • Search and hybrid retrieval modes so large knowledgebases do not need to be sent in full on every request
  • FAQ replies that do not require an AI request
  • AI moderation in review-first mode
  • Athena-native punishment history and moderation logs
  • Join, leave, welcome, goodbye, and auto-role member events
  • Anti-raid join burst detection
  • Usage and estimated cost tracking
  • Optional OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini prompt-caching controls
  • Optional separate credentials for reasoning and agent tasks
  • Approval-gated memory for AIO’s own knowledge and personality
  • Prompt files and custom prompt variables for advanced branding
  • Customer-owned addons under data/addons for custom behavior that survives updates
  • Multiple LLM provider options through one llm_* configuration surface
  • Native Athena ticket close requests when creator approval is enabled

When To Use It

AIO Agent is best when you want one plugin to cover several jobs:

  • A support assistant that can work inside tickets and hand off to humans
  • A staff helper that can answer AthenaBot setup questions
  • A private owner assistant that can perform controlled management actions
  • A moderation helper that can flag or act on rule-breaking messages
  • A branded AI personality for a community or product server

How It Works

The plugin loads configuration from aio_agent, loads language strings from aio_agent_lang, registers an aio_agent handler, and then listens for ticket messages, bot mentions, configured chat channels, member events, moderation events, and slash commands.

In Smart mode, obvious decisions do not use the LLM. Fixed FAQ or knowledgebase matches, clear help requests, and direct calls using the bot’s name or a configured alias can be answered immediately, while greetings, acknowledgements, and ordinary conversation are ignored. Only ambiguous questions use the small response classifier. Its decision is confidence-gated, cached, rate-limited, and counted in usage stats.

The LLM client is provider-agnostic. Internally, the plugin uses one common message and tool-calling format, then adapts it to Gemini, OpenAI-compatible providers, Anthropic, OpenRouter, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

For knowledgebase answers, the plugin reads configured sources on startup or /aio reload, stores them in memory, and adds a generated knowledgebase_block to each prompt. In search mode the block contains only locally matched chunks for the current request. In hybrid mode, local matches can be reranked with embeddings for larger customer docs.

For customer-specific behavior that should survive updates, AIO Agent can load addons from plugins/aio_agent/data/addons. Addons can provide prompt variables, prompt file overrides, config defaults, reload hooks, and extra knowledgebase sources without editing AIO’s core files.
