Predictions Commands And Workflow

Commands

/prediction createOpens a prediction with a question, `
/prediction votePlaces or changes a vote with an optional coin wager. Prediction and choice options use autocomplete.
/prediction closeLocks an open prediction without choosing a winner.
/prediction resolveSelects the correct answer, updates stats, and pays winners.
/prediction rewardsChanges global or per-choice rewards before resolution.
/prediction statsShows a member’s accuracy, streaks, rewards, and wager history.

Management replies and member vote confirmations are private. The public prediction message is updated as votes and status change.

Creation Workflow

  1. Staff provide a question and answers separated by |.
  2. The plugin validates answer count and length.
  3. It selects the requested channel, configured default channel, or current channel.
  4. It applies the optional lock time, wager cap, mention role, and reward policy.
  5. It posts the prediction and sends an optional log entry.

Durations such as 30m, 2h, and 1d are accepted for lock_after.

Voting Workflow

  • Slash-command votes can include wagers.
  • Buttons place zero-wager votes.
  • One vote is stored per member and prediction.
  • With vote changes enabled, the existing vote is replaced and the wager is adjusted.
  • Hidden vote counts remain hidden until resolution when configured.

Locking And Resolution

Predictions lock manually with /prediction close or automatically when their configured lock time passes. Locked predictions stop accepting votes but can still be resolved.

When staff resolve a prediction, the plugin:

  1. Marks the correct answer.
  2. Updates every participant’s correct/wrong totals and streak.
  3. Pays the effective XP, coin, wager, and role rewards to winners.
  4. Records losing wagers.
  5. Adds or removes milestone roles when configured.
  6. Updates the public message and sends a log entry.

At least one vote is required before the slash command can resolve a prediction.

Dashboard Actions

The Predictions dashboard can:

  • Create predictions
  • Review votes and wager totals
  • Lock open predictions
  • Cancel predictions and process configured wager refunds
  • Resolve the correct answer
  • Update global and per-choice rewards
  • Edit plugin settings, channels, and role selections

Cancellation is a dashboard action; there is no default /prediction cancel subcommand.
