Use the Server Splitter
The splitter creates a separate child server using part of the master server’s available resource pool. The child gets its own console and management pages. It is not a backup or a folder inside the original server.
The option appears only on eligible master servers. The number of child servers depends on the service plan.
Create a child server
- Open the eligible master server and select Splitter.
- Select Create Split Server.
- Enter a name and optional description.
- Assign CPU, memory, disk, swap, databases, backups, and allocations.
- Choose whether to restart the master and whether to sync its server users.
- Review the resources that will remain, then create the child.
The form requires at least 10% CPU, 128 MB memory, 256 MB disk, and one available allocation. Assigned resources are deducted from the master pool.
Remove a child server
Back up or download anything you need first. Deleting a child server is permanent and does not move its files back to the master.
Leave enough CPU and memory for the master workload. Do not allocate every available resource just because the form allows it.
